DeenTunes is seeking a strategic, hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for an equity-only executive position to engineer and scale our open audio streaming and content-creator ecosystem.
About the Role
As the CTO of DeenTunes, you will be responsible for the overarching technology roadmap, backend media pipelines, and client API integrations powering our audio platform. We are building a modern streaming service that gives independent creators direct upload capabilities while delivering low-latency audio playback to listeners worldwide. As an equity-compensated co-founder-level partner, you will lead all technical operations and share directly in the long-term enterprise value of DeenTunes.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform & API Architecture: Architect and manage scalable, high-availability backend services supporting media storage, audio streaming protocols, creator upload pipelines, and Subsonic/REST API clients.
- Core Development: Lead the development of web and mobile streaming applications, focusing on seamless audio buffering, offline playback, user authentication, and catalog indexing.
- Infrastructure & Database Optimization: Build robust database schema and storage solutions optimized for rapid media retrieval, search indexing, metadata management, and high concurrent bandwidth demands.
- Engineering Culture & Hiring: Recruit, manage, and scale an engineering team, setting high standards for continuous integration, code reviews, system monitoring, and unit testing.
- Security & Rights Management: Oversee platform security, data encryption, user access management, and content licensing storage architectures.
What We Are Looking For
- Media Tech Expertise: Extensive technical experience in audio streaming platforms, backend media pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and database design.
- Startup & Leadership Background: Prior track record as a CTO, System Architect, or Senior Lead Engineer with experience taking software products from MVP to scale.
- Technical Stack Mastery: Proficiency in cloud systems, audio processing libraries, database management (SQL/NoSQL), REST APIs, and modern frontend/mobile frameworks.
- Product & Business Alignment: Strong capacity to align complex technical decisions with creator experience, user engagement metrics, and business sustainability.
- Equity Mindset: High ambition to hold early-stage co-founder equity, driven by ownership and building high-impact tech infrastructure.
